Airports & Flights in Mauritius
Mauritius has only two airports: the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in the city of Plaisance (code: MRU), and the Rodrigues Island Airport (RRG). MRU handles the international traffic and is quite a small airport with only four gates. Nevertheless, it manages to house three duty free shops, a bookshop, several other stores, two snack areas, a VAT refund counter, and some stands offering airline and banking services. It is the hub for Air Mauritius and has a lounge for the frequent fliers of that airline.
The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport has a bus and taxi waiting area outside in front of the check-in hall. Beyond that, there is a personal drop-off area for private cars and a paid parking lot. Cars may be rented from several international car agencies in the airport, including Avis and Europcar.
